Dr. Christopher Lever
Dr. Christopher Lever has been a pediatrician in Calgary since 1998. He graduated from the University of Calgary Medical School in 1992 and completed pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 1998. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary. He has been part of Sunnyhill Pediatric Clinic since 1998. He also works with the CanLearn Society and Woods Homes. He is involved in Newborn care at the Foothills Medical Centre. And finally, he is the Chair of the Normal Newborn Care Committee and an Active member of their Section of Community Pediatrics and The Residency Training Committee. He is not Patch Adams, but he does have an Emergency Clown Nose.

Dr. Neil Cooper
Dr. Neil Cooper is a Pediatrician and Sports Medicine Physician, one of only a handful in the country. He graduated from University of Calgary Medical School in 1990 and completed pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 1994. Since 1994 he has had an active practice in Pediatrics in Calgary. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Calgary and a Fellow of the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Cooper is also Vice President for Dreams Take Flight, a National charity that takes about 135 challenged children from Calgary on a one day adventure of a lifetime to Disneyland each fall. (yyc.dreamstakeflight.ca)
He was the President of the Alberta Medical Association in 2017 and 2018
Dr. Cooper is married and has 3 grown children. Vacation time will usually find him under water on some tropical island.

Dr. Jennifer Landero
Dr. Jennifer Landero graduated from the University of British Columbia Medical School in 2008 and completed her pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2013. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary.
She has been working at Sunnyhill Pediatric Clinic since 2013. She also works at Foothills Medical Center providing care for newborns.

Dr. Desiree Yow
Dr. Desiree Yow completed her undergraduate degree at Queen's University in 2004. She attended medical school at the University of Alberta from 2004-2008 and finished her Pediatrics Residency at the Alberta Children's Hospital in 2012. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary.
She has never been able to decide which area of pediatrics is her favorite. She found something interesting about every rotation she ever did which made community pediatrics a great fit because you get to see a great variety. Her favorite part of working in the community is being able to see newborns and watching them change and grow as they get older. The hardest part is saying goodbye when kids turn 18.

Dr. Lori Walker
Dr. Lori Walker has been a pediatrician in Calgary for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of Manitoba Medical School in 1998 and completed pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2002. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary.
She has a strong background in both hospital pediatrics and resident education. She is also a pediatric asthma physician. Other areas of interest include ADHD, vascular anomalies, cleft lip and palate and feeding issues.
Outside of work she enjoys many outdoor activities with her husband and three children.

Dr. Robert Shyleyko
Dr. Robert Shyleyko is a General Pediatrician who completed his medical school education at the University of Calgary in 2015, then went on to complete his pediatrics residency training at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2019. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and holds a Clinical Lecturer appointment at the University of Calgary. Robert also works at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary where he cares for hospitalized children and also provides newborn care.
Robert is passionate about working with children and their families and finds great reward in supporting kids to grow up strong and confident. He has a strong interest in teaching medical students and residents, both in clinic and while he works at the hospital.
When he isn’t working, you’re likely to find Robert outdoors or in the mountains with his wife and family.

Dr. Steven Olliver
Dr. Steven Olliver graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta in 1998 and finished his Pediatric Residency at the University of Saskatchewan in 2001. After, he completed the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at McGill University in 2003.
Dr. Olliver worked at Alberta Children’s Hospital Pediatric ICU/Critical Care from 2003-2009 and has been working at Sunnyhill Pediatric Clinic since 2010.

Dr. Cody Flexhaug
Dr. Cody Flexhaug completed his undergraduate degree at University of Alberta in 2008. He graduated from University of Calgary Medical School in 2012 and completed Pediatric Residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2016. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary.
Areas of interest include developmental and behavioural paediatrics and he has completed further training in paediatric psychopharmacology and sleep medicine.
Outside of work he is the proud father of 5 boys and 1 girl which keeps him and his wife busy.

Dr. Renée Farrell
Dr. Renée M. Farrell, M.D. FRCPC completed her pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2018. During her residency, she was recognized for her leadership capabilities and spent one year as Co-Chief Resident. She completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, and was the proud recipient of the Helios Scholarship—which gave Dr. Farrell the opportunity to undertake training in transition to adult care at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Within her mixed consultative practice of medical and mental health, Dr. Farrell follows patients from birth to 18 years of age; which include, newborns, infants born prematurely, children and adolescents with chronic diseases (such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis) and primary mental health conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression and Anxiety. She specializes in the treatment of adolescents with chronic diseases and co-morbid mental health conditions. In addition working at Sunnyhill Pediatrics Clinic, Dr. Farrell also cares for newborn infants at the Foothills Medical Centre.
Her commitment to care fuels her passion as a medical practitioner. Dr. Farrell looks forward to working with her patients and their families towards improved, sustainable health, and effective symptom management

Dr. Lindsey Kjaldgaard
Dr. Lindsey Kjaldgaard completed her medical school training at the University of Manitoba in 2019. She completed her pediatrics residency at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta in 2023. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and holds a Clinical Lecturer appointment at the University of Calgary. She truly enjoys all areas of pediatrics, but has a particular interest in adolescent care.

Dr. Candace Rypien
Dr. Candace Rypien is a Pediatrician and has extra training and certification in Pediatric Infectious Disease, Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Tropical Medicine. She has been a Pediatrician in Calgary since 2017 and also works at the Alberta Children's Hospital as a Hospital Pediatrician and clinical Immunologist. She has practiced as a physician outside Alberta in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and Ethiopia. She teaches at the Medical school at the University of Calgary and previously taught at the Medical School in Gondor Ethiopia. She did her training in Pediatrics, Infectious Disease and Immunology through the University of Calgary.
She is happy to see patients who have concerns about infections, their immune system or questions about vaccinations. She also sees patients for general Pediatric concerns.
When not working one of her many jobs, Dr. Rypien loves having adventures both in and outside of Calgary with her husband, son and corgi. When she has time, she loves baking and has a life long commitment to perfecting the carrot cake cupcake.
